Battle of Atlanta Middleweight Champion 1973

"I fought Bill Wallace in 1973, at the "tournament of champions", hosted at the "Battle of Atlanta", but not part of it. The top 16 fighters in the U.S. were seeded to fight; I won my place in the tourney by virtue of my win that day at the "Battle of Atlanta's "middleweight division; 165 lbs. I defeated 5 fighters, including "Steve Kejewski" (spelling may be in error), one of the "top ten fighters rated in the US of A. That night, (after refereeing 50 or so matches in the white belt devision, after I fought, and having fought 5 times to win the middleweight division, I was seeded first, that night, against a fresh Bill Wallace at the "tournament of champions". He didn't have to fight that day, because most of the "seeded" fighters were champions from the country's other top tournaments. I fought that night, by virtue of my win that day at the "Battle of Atlanta". That's the story." Andy
